Effective Speed Management
In 2014 thousands of motorists in England and Wales were caught speeding, with many of these offences taking place during work-related journeys, posing a real risk to business.
Organisation’s need to consider the risks associated with allowing speeding drivers to undertake work-related driving, ideally prior to a serious, speed related incident occurs.
For businesses that have signed up to TTC’s end-to-end workplace road safety managed service – TTC DriverProtect – on-road effective speed management training can be focused on those employees that have been identified as posing the greatest risk to the business, ensuring that the training budget is spent effectively.
TTC delivers a complete range of on-road driver speed awareness training courses; these courses can combine both in-class theory and on-road coaching.
Our on-road Driver Development training starts with an appraisal of the driver’s competence and attitude towards safe driving, compliance to speed limits and an ability to appropriately adapt their driving speed according to the road, traffic and weather conditions that prevail at the time.
The trainer will identify any area that may compromise safety or may be less fuel efficient and after prioritizing the areas, discuss a plan of action with the driver.
Using proven coaching techniques, the driver and trainer will work together with the aim of:
- Building on the drivers strengths and developing areas of weakness;
- Enhancing the drivers awareness and anticipation skills;
- Develop a proactive approach to dealing with hazards;
- Develop an enhanced appreciation of speed management and compliance to traffic law;
- Develop a safe, courteous and fuel efficient driving style.
The session concludes with a full verbal debrief and written report.
